Cowboy Nouveau

In the late fall of 2007 I was contacted
by someone to paint several images
with a Texas theme for potentially
selling prints in that state through a
retail store. Through my love of the
Art Nouveau style, love of cowboys
(hey, I married a guy from Texas!)
and western style things I came up
with this image. I wanted to convey
"Texas" without traditional imagery
or the cliche' style of a cowboy sitting
on a horse, etc. I created the Cowgirl
Nouveau as a companion painting.
