A number of years ago my mother gave me the
cover of one of those pocket calendars with
this kitten on the front. The original kitten
though, had a lot of black on the top of it's
head and ears and had green eyes. I once had
a cat who was all white with blue eyes and
looked just like the kitten I painted when he
was that small. He also used to love to play
under my potted plants, particularly the
Boston fern because it made a rustling sound
when he attacked the fronds. He would jump
out to pounce on my feet as I walked past.
