This was a one of those picture I
found in a gardening magazine that
really caught my eye. I loved the play
of strong light on the tips of the
petals of the rose and the deep
background of the foliage. I also
loved the challenge of using a strong
color - orange - to create the form
and shadow within the blooms. I
decided to only use this one
particular solitary rose out of all the
several grouped in the original
photograph. I wanted to create a
singular focus on a specific point of
interest ... that being the vivid,
bursting with life color of this rose.
